Dr Kohlbrenner is also a native San Franciscan. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. She earned her medical degree at Saint Louis University, graduating Cum Laude and AOA. She completed her General Surgery training at UCSF, Fresno where she received the Golden Scalpel award for her outstanding achievements as a senior resident. After training she returned to San Francisco to join her father in private practice. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr Kohlbrenner’s scope of practice is broad and includes all aspects of general surgery with an emphasis in breast surgery and hernia repair including abdominal wall reconstruction, endocrine, GI, and advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. She is a member of multiple professional organizations including the American College of Surgeons, San Francisco Medical Society, and The American Society of Breast Surgeons. She has an interest in surgical education and received several teaching awards throughout her training. She also is a provider for Operation Access to provide necessary surgergical services to the uninsured working poor. Together with her father Kevin Hiler, Dr Kohlbrenner is committed to providing state of the art surgical care in a compassionate environment to the patients she treats.
